Business Debit Card FAQs

The Watertown Savings Bank Business Debit Card is a convenient, fast, and safe way to make purchases right from your business checking account. Simply stop by any of our offices and supply us with some basic information for each employee you wish to have access to the business checking account, then, we can send your card(s) right in the mail. It’s that easy. Even better, there are no monthly fees. Once your card arrives, you’re on your way. You can use it to access your accounts, just like an ATM card, plus use it like a check. No more wasted time writing checks and holding up the line of people behind you, just sign the receipt and go. And each transaction you make will be listed on your monthly checking account statement. It’s still an ATM card, but now much more. Just one of the many ways Watertown Savings Bank is meeting the needs of its business customers. Make doing business easy, apply for your card today. You’ll be glad you did.

Since your PIN is your best protection against anyone else being able to access your account, it’s a good idea to memorize these numbers and keep them a secret. Make a record of it somewhere other than on or with your card. And if your card is lost or stolen, call us immediately at 315-788-7100 or toll free at 1-800-870-8510.

Q: Where can I use my Business Debit Card?
A: Our Business Debit Card is also a VISA Card, which means it can be used at restaurants, hotels, stores, the Internet or anywhere Visa is accepted.

Q: Can my employee(s) have a Business Debit Card?
A: Yes. You or another authorized signer on your business checking account can request a card for any employee in your business.

Q: How do I ensure that an employee won’t abuse my Business Debit Card?
A: As the business owner, you can directly control access to your account by setting purchase and withdrawal limits for each card you receive.

Q: If I’m using my card at the cash register, should I choose “Credit” or “Debit”?
A: When presented with a choice for selecting “credit” or “debit” at the cash register (or even at the gas pump), always select “credit” - the transaction will still be deducted from your checking account and you won’t have to reveal your PIN number because the purchase is backed by the power of VISA.

Q: Since my Business Debit Card is also a VISA card, does that mean I’m using a credit card?
A: No, this is a debit card which means that transactions are deducted directly from your Watertown Savings Bank business checking account. But since your card carries the familiar VISA logo, it is accepted anywhere you use a credit card.
